The Sacred Paschal Triduum begins on Holy Thursday.
It presents the most significant events of our faith. Jesus loves us so much that he died on the cross for our salvation and rose again, revealing Himself as the Lord of life and death.
Jesus is the Suffering Servant, silently allows himself to be led to the slaughter (c.f. Is 53:7) and bears the sin of the multitudes, and also the Paschal Lamb, the symbol of Israel’s redemption at the first Passover. Christ’s whole life expresses his mission: “to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mk 10:45) (c.f. CCC 608)
The Paschal mystery of the Passion and Resurrection of Christ stands at the center of the Good News that the Church is to proclaim to the world. (c.f. CCC 571)
Together with St. Faustina, let us strive during these days to enter into the Passion of Christ and reflecting on His sufferings. Let us open our hearts to receive His mercy.
As Apostles of Divine Mercy, let us proclaim to the world the Good News of salvation that we have in Jesus, for it is a source of hope for every human being.
‘‘Holy Thursday. Today, I felt strong enough to be able to take part in the church celebrations. During Mass, Jesus stood by me and said, “Gaze upon My Heart so full of love and mercy for humans, especially for sinners. Gaze upon it and enter into the depth of My Passion.”(Diary 1663)
