JUBILEE YEAR

The beginning of 2025 is special in many ways. The whole Church, from December 24th 2024, is celebrating the Jubilee Year centered on the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.”

It is also a special year for the Apostles of Divine Mercy, because we will live it with St. Faustina. We will celebrate special anniversaries (concerning her life and mission) together. These anniversaries are:

– April 30th – the 25th anniversary of the canonization of Sister Faustina and the establishment of the Feast of Mercy for the whole Church by the Holy Father John Paul II.

– August 1st – the 100th anniversary of the entry of Helena Kowalska into the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy.

– August 25th – the 120th anniversary of the birth of our Saint.

In keeping with the tradition of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, we invite everyone to draw a Patron Saint for this special year. All you have to to is to visit our website www.saint-faustina.org and fill out a short form and a saint will be chosen at random for you. You will then receive information about your Patron Saint for the year.

THE DRAW

‘‘In the morning during Meditation, one of those secret wishes awoke in me, for the Eucharistic Jesus to continue to be my special patron this year, too. But keeping this wish secret from my Beloved, I talked to Him about everything else except that I wanted Him for my patron. When we came into the refectory for breakfast, after we had made the sign of the cross, we drew patrons. When I went up to the holy cards with the patrons’names, I drew one out at random and didn’t read it at once, I wanted to mortify myself for a few moments. And then I heard a voice in my soul, “I am your patron, read it.” At once I looked at the inscription and read, Patron for 1935 – the Most Blessed Eucharist.”(Diary 360)
