159th anniversary of the founding of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Poland
In the beginning there was … an invitation!
Merciful God, who wanted us to bring His mercy to the world, and then the invitation of a man – Archbishop Zygmunt Szczęsny Feliński, who invited Mother Teresa Potocka to Warsaw and on November 1, 1862 consecrated the chapel and the first House of Mercy at Żytnia Street.
What about today? … We celebrate together!
We glorify the Lord that we can create a community and enjoy the intercession of our Saint Patrons! Among them is St. Faustina Kowalska – the spiritual co-founder of the Congregation, St. Archbishop Zygmunt Szczęsny Feliński, as well as deceased sisters, our girls, apostles of Divine Mercy from the “Faustinum” Association, who participated in the mission of the Congregation by making God’s merciful love present in the world by their life, deed, word and prayer.
Let us pray to the Lord that each of us be a living image of the merciful Jesus and achieve the goal of our pilgrimage – holiness!
“I understood that all striving for perfection and all sanctity consist in doing God’s will. Perfect fulfillment of God’s will is maturity in sanctity; there is no room for doubt here” (Diary, 666).
